SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH

Focused research leads to the most effective actions.
FSI conducts and supports research in a variety of ways.

We manage the Food System Research Fund (FSRF), which solicits research on the most impactful areas to speed up desired transformation of the global food system.

These include:

  • Addressing knowledge gaps around the economics of the animal protein and plant-based alternatives markets.

  • Identifying paths to reducing growth in animal product consumption in populous low and middle-income countries.

  • Addressing knowledge gaps related to existing advocacy techniques.

  • Identifying new promising techniques to shift the food system towards being more plant-based.

Many projects are underway and not yet complete, but we do have some results we can share here, and you can see the status of all our funded research projects here.

We also directly commission key research projects that can have the highest impact on assisting in understanding how to transform the food system, and can provide policy makers the information they need to make the best overall choices.
